Built on the former Buccleuch Street, the Fielding Building was designed to showcase the latest in home living by the Ashcroft Foundation in collaboration with Edinburgh University. It maintained its own power supply, was self-sufficient, and recycled almost 90% of all waste. While criticised for its cost, the building proved popular with buyers when apartments went on the market in December 2084. However, a mysterious fire gutted the building in January 2085: investigations have indicated that the fire was started deliberately. Fortunately, the 20-floor building was not yet occupied. The building now awaits demolition.
