The Highlands

The Highlands have been pretty much abandoned by the NEG, although military patrols and listening stations abound throughout the glens. A few humans eke out a subsistence existence, but the NEG has washed their hands of them. The road and rail links have largely fallen into ruin, although the maglev link to Aberdeen remains open.

Rumours

• The Aberdeen arcology is being fortified - the EoD are intending to attack the city soon.
• The Bugs already have a foothold in the Cairngorms. NEG patrols are increasing in their frequency.
• "Bandits" are regularly attacking the trains to Aberdeen - why aren't the NEG doing anything about it?
