Kemperbad

Kemperbad is built on cliff tops on the east side of the bank of the River Reik. The east bank is far higher than the west bank on this section of the river, and the river Stir runs through a deep gorge into the Reik near the town and passes down through a series of locks and weirs to account for the differences in height between the two rivers..

The docks are at river level at the base of the cliffs and you reach Kemperbad itself using either baskets and lifts going up the cliff run by the Dwarven Engineers guild for a fee, or by using the long spiral stair case cut into the rock face!

The town is a free-town (friestadt) and this makes it a good place to buy goods and services, as it provides goods normally only found in a much larger city, because of its location. Things are just as expensive though, even though there are less levels of tax (as it is a friestadt); the town council simply increase the amount of tax paid to the town.

The local "gang" is the Belladonna family, headed up by Luigi Belladonna.
