Prior to the invasion he had been a Professor of Linguistics at Metropolis university and joined the Resistance after his children and grandchildren were killed in the invasion. He was involved in the attempt to decode the JLA blackbox and locate the missing heroes. He survived the revolution and was briefly a member of the new /metropolis government.
