In early 2085, the murder of a young human male by a [[Nazzadi]] gang sparked off a huge civic uprising in the former Cameron Toll area, [[The Toll]]. Initially the gang known as the [[Black Banshees]] were believed responsible for the death but further investigation since has revealed that the individual known as [[David Nichols]] was involved and may have engineered the riots for own purposes.

As such, events of that night are unclear as are many of the accounts of those involved are fragmented with little or no memory of why they were participating in such behaviour, only that they were "filled with rage" according to one account.

Local [[NEG]] forces struggled to maintain order, and many agencies became involved in quelling the riot. At its height, five SPAT teams were deployed and empowered to use lethal forces as the riot threatened to spread to the Southside Arcology.
