=Background=
Lakk was born to a mid-hive family on the busy hive planet of Driscar. It didn't take too long for him to get involved in a local criminal enterprise, and he spent most of his childhood working as a spotter during jobs, looking out for local enforcers who might interfere with operations. He found his true calling in his teens - he was a natural pilot, and once he started flying craft for the gang, he soon found himself the go-to get away driver for all of their important jobs. He bit off more than he could chew when he double crossed the gang leader, trying to sell him out to a local rival. The rival betrayed Lakk, repaying his service by selling him into slavery.

Even when enslaved, Lakk's talent earned him better work than he could have had. On a mining colony, he worked his way up from flying shuttles, to bulk transports and in-system freighters. Lakk only gained his freedom when the colony figured in an Inquisitorial investigation. Lakk never found out what his bosses had been involved in, but in the chaos he managed to take down his pit boss, taking his Hand Cannon and Monosword as momentos. Not knowing what to do with his freedom, he enlisted in the Imperial Navy, where his skills saw him transferred to piloting Inquisitorial Stormtroopers.

He happened to be piloting a unit including a young Sicarius when the unit was disbanded under circumstances left unexplained to the rest of the unit, and joined the crew of the Tranquility along with some others from the unit.

=Appearance=
Lakk is a well worn man in his mid thirties, with his head usually close shaven and a few day's stubble normally on his chin. A practical man more than anything, he would always choose a flight suit or overalls instead of fancier clothing, and sticks to his tried and trusted flak armour when in dangerous situations. He places his trust in simple weapons - an old habit from his Hive Gang days - and given the choice will take a well made autogun or stubber over something flash.

In the absence of an elected Squad Leader, I have encoded this message and requested it be sent to you by the Marques Du Chance's Astropaths as their have been important developments.

It is the first day of our voyage en route to the planet Aurom, and we are accompanied by the Governor Elect, and Alex Severus, whose role has so far not been ascertained.

Having settled ourselves in our allocated quarters, the squad went about their duties to the Emperor in familiarising themselves with areas of the ship. When doing so, we were attacked. We have so far encountered 4 distinct groups of what seem to be rogue weapon Servitors: Brothers Eigen and Gabriel swiftly dealt with two in the lower decks; Brother Stern was attacked by another pair on the gun decks; two attacked Camerone and myself on route from the bridge to the gun decks. The Governor Elect and Severus were also attacked in another area of the ship. We have neutralised the threats encountered so far, more servitors have made their way to the bridge. The total number of attackers is unknown at this time, as is the cause or the perpetrator of the attacks. We have so far found no link between the ship's crew and the servitors; Brother Camerone is satisfied that their machine spirits have been separated from that of the ship. What is clear is that something is not right here.

However, we shall contain this threat, we shall root out those responsible, and the mission shall go on as planned. Rest assured that Aurom will be brought into the Imperial fold.

==Background==

After long years fighting as a space wolf, all served under the same wolf lord, Hagaar's squad left on a great hunt with the rest of their Great Company. They began winning great victories, but were caught flat footed by an Eldar raid as they were investigating a planet. Much of the company was wiped out, and during a desperate holding action trying to buy time for others to get back to a waiting thunderhawk, all of the surviving members of Hagaar's Long Fang pack were killed. Hagaar himself only survived after grevious wounds thanks to his Sus-an membrane taking him into suspended animation. Left for dead by the Eldar, he was discovered when the remnants of the Company scouted the battlefield later.

After spending much time in the care of the Wolf Priests recovering, the wolf lord offered him choices - he could return to the fang and train new recruits, or continue to serve the company as a wolf scout or lone wolf - but Hagaar requested secondment to the Deathwatch, to face the Xenos that had killed his brothers over the many years of his career, and avenge their deaths.

Altaya is a rich agricultaral world, set on the very fringes of the sector. Reclaimed by a Rogue Trader two centuries ago, it produced premium grade foodstuffs which have found their way to banquets of planetary governors and high born nobles.
