Dust

Dust is a world at the very edge of the Imperium of Man.

The planet orbits a red giant and the majority of the world is made up of endless grey dust bowls where the few remaining native life forms struggle to survive. It is estimated that life will become impossible on the planet in less than 10 thousand years. The planet is part of a warp eddy which reduces the effect of the Abyss on Warp space around it, making it easier to reach than most other planets in the area.

The few major human habitations on the planet are domed cities.

The planet has no tactical significance apart form its position close to the Abyss and is a net importer of goods, it has been over 50 years since the last official imperial vessel visited the planet. The last time the planet was important was 300 years ago when it was used as a staging ground for the Imperial fleets massing to attack the Tyranid Hive Fleet. The planets only remaining role is to support a number of Rogue Trader and Explorator vessels that venture into the unknown area closer to the Abyss.
