Upon arrival, the Elves turned and left the field instead of joining the battle. That night every Elf (and some Half-elves if the tales are to be believed) left Volkrania. [[Athelthiar]] was left empty for the forest to reclaim. The battle was won, but at a terrible cost. Only one in fifty soldiers that took the field survived, carrying tales of the Elven betrayal.</div>
